According to overseas media reports, since the launch of ChatGPT, retail investors approaching retirement age have increasingly invested in artificial intelligence (AI) stocks. The number of investors aged 55 and above who invest in AI stocks has grown significantly faster than any other age group.
Following the release of ChatGPT in late November 2022, the social trading and investment platform eToro has experienced a surge in AI stock trading activity among elderly investors. In the first quarter of 2023, compared to the fourth quarter of 2022, the number of new positions in AI stocks by people over 55 increased by 60%. In contrast, the 18-34 age group increased by 41%, while the 35-44 age group increased by 54%.

AI software provider C3.ai (New York Stock Exchange stock code: AI) has witnessed the most significant growth in new positions in the age group over 55, with a growth rate of up to 22000%, which is approximately three times that of other age groups. Other AI stocks that have attracted a lot of interest from mature investors include Intel (NASDAQ: INYC), with new positions increasing by 93%, NVDA (NASDAQ: NVDA) increasing by 91%, and SentinelOne (New York Stock Exchange: S) increasing by 84%.
Regarding these data, Ben Laidler, a global market strategist at eToro, stated that although younger and technically proficient individuals are generally considered the main adopters of artificial intelligence, the data indicates that ChatGPT has attracted interest from all age groups, with older investors being more involved.

After the huge success of ChatGPT, the market has witnessed an increasing number of tools utilizing artificial intelligence in various economic fields. Among them is Tiger Brokers Financial Technology Holding Limited, a trading brand under UP. The company has launched an alternative to the artificial intelligence chat robot ChatGPT, called TigerGPT. TigerGPT is the first artificial intelligence trading assistant released in the industry.
Tiger Brokers developed Tiger GPT using the advanced artificial intelligence capabilities of OpenAI. Investment assistants use the broker's comprehensive content library and advanced resource access permissions to provide users with fast and informative responses. This includes information on the overview of listed companies, financial knowledge, investor education materials, and market and stock insights. TigerGPT solves investment related problems through easy to understand dialogue, saving users time and improving the efficiency of pre investment research.
