Aihuicha, November 20: ECB Governing Council member Wen Shi said that if investors bet that loose monetary policy weakens the central bank's policy stance, the ECB may have to raise interest rates again. The market is optimistic about the possibility of further interest rate hikes and expects the ECB deposit rate to be lowered for the first time from its current 4% level as early as April next year. Last month, the European Central Bank kept interest rates unchanged for the first time in its tightening cycle, warning that they must keep them unchanged for enough time to bring inflation back to its 2% target. Some officials said that ruled out action in the first half of next year.
